Cafe An Den Wasserbecken in Dortmund

This cafe had the rudest old woman working here on 17/10/2020. She was very unpleasant, didn’t greet the customer, and then was upset when we needed to find where to go to get into the restaurant ourself. I understand with COVID-19 that procedures are different, but common courtesy and speaking to guests when they are standing in front of you isn’t too much to expect.

October 17, 2020 at 2 p.m. The unfriendly service, if you can even call them service, should look for a new job. You enter the shop and are asked whether you would not see that you are not allowed in. Such unsuitable people can ruin such a beautiful place and day. Never again !

Good location, everyone very friendly and helpful, the dishes are very inexpensive and tasty. Despite Corona the only restaurant that is always open. The children felt very comfortable at the aquarium and we parents had some rest.

Are often guests in this restaurant with the family. Unfortunately there are not many offers in the Westfalenpark anymore. Due to Corona, it takes a little longer to get a seat, but we are happy to accept it. Friendly staff. The waiter is always in a good mood and has a brisk saying on his lips. Never to be disturbed and always there. The menu has something to offer for every taste. Come back soon. Many thanks.

As the name suggests, located directly on the water basin. The outside seating area on the terrace is lovely with a view of the flower beds. The prices are ok, the staff is friendly. The hygiene concept works very well.

Service friendly, but not at a loss for any excuse. As soon as you expect fresh mushrooms in the Jägerschnitzel, it would be a mushroom schnitzel: D that was new to me. Salad drowned in the dressing and was therefore inedible. Beer tasted weird too. The rest was good and the atmosphere is nice too.

Restaurant was good. The water basins of the cracker. Beautiful water lilies and a flock of children who are always after the fish.

Wonderful restaurant / cafe in the middle of Westfalenpark, terrace with palm trees and water basin, fantastic atmosphere. Very nice, courteous staff, the food is fresh and delicious. Here you really have to go out to eat, or just have a coffee and eat delicious cake.

It was my second time today, in three days, in this restaurant and I was very impressed. The staff was very friendly to their guests and dogs were treated very nicely (water and treats were brought to the table :)). The menu is attractive and the food plentiful and tasty. Although it was quite full, the food came very quickly. A visit to this restaurant rounds off the visit to the park.

So far OK ... is of course nothing special, but a normal excursion restaurant, beautifully located in the Westphalia Park. .... My wife was satisfied with the baked sheep cheese ... Wiener Schnitzel also OK! Unfortunately, the tapped Brinkhoffs beer did not taste, it also showed a slight cloudiness ... Since I have been operating a private tap with basket keg for 2 years, I know how a Brinkhoffs tastes, and normally shows no cloudiness, but glass is clear ... could not drink this impure beer either. Unfortunately, the staff only told me because of a complaint .... "That could not be", the invoice came without any clarification ... Therefore, unfortunately, not a good rating ... A basic cleaning system is strongly recommended. Bacteria, who knows?

There were four of us and we had to wait a very long time (definitely 20 minutes) to get to the restaurant. A few guests had left the tables, but we had to wait. The food was nothing special, the beer didn't taste good ... Somehow stale. We have been there before, at that time we always found it ok. Think we will not go there for the time being. Can not recommend the restaurant

Beautifully located in the heart of the Westfalenpark. Service and food comes despite full house quickly. The price for the quality of the food is in my view a bit too high, and a bottle of water at 5.20 I find simply exaggerated. Of course you pay the location and it is just great.

Very nice cafe and restaurant inside Westfalenpark in Dortmund with magnificent view of Florian’s Tower and water lily and lotus pond. A variety of food and snacks are offered as well as ice cream sundaes, cakes and coffee or tea. In summer, it’s great to sit at the Patio and enjoy the view of lovely flowers abounding this beautiful and huge garden which was once the venue of the Bundesgartenschau - National Horticulture Show. Kids friendly, this Café has something for children to enjoy indoor, small library and toys. But I warn you the staffs are not so friendly and service is very slow!

In fine weather, the 60th anniversary of the Westfalenpak was successful. There was once again music on the lake stage and cake was also available.

Great deserts, good prices, freindly staff, highly recommended.
